Meet Peach!

This little girl is just stunning and deserves a chance at life!

Peach is just that! A peach! She is gorgeous but she needs medical care urgently. Families stepping forward for her should have experience with heart conditions and surgeries, have resources to help her immediately upon arrival home, and the financial resources to meet her needs. The risk does exist that she might not survive.   :(

Peach (12)
Girl, Born November 2009
This little peach is all dressed up in her baptism gown! We are waiting for more medical info, but we know she was born with a serious heart condition, and she needs surgery ASAP to correct it. Doctors there do not believe she will survive without this, and it is a complicated surgery, so they do not feel able to do it correctly in her home country. She is missing her left ventricle of her heart (ventriculus cordis)...
Will post more information as we get it. This little girl is just stunning and deserves a chance at life! Families stepping forward for her should have experience with heart conditions and surgeries, have resources to help her immediately upon arrival home, and the financial resources to meet her needs. The risk does exist that she might not survive. :(

Angels of the week.... awwww adorable.... I want to hug and kiss these cutie pies -follow @reecesrainbow

One of my favorite blogs: Reece's Rainbow. They do such great things for beautiful orphans. Head on over.

Artem (orphange 14)

Boy, Born September 10, 2008

Artem is a tart of a boy, with blonde hair and blue eyes. He was born with an atrial septal defect, and will need to be followed by a cardiologist once home. But he is so young and will greatly benefit from early intervention therapy with his new family!

So happy to have an updated picture!

Arrived to the orphanage at the age of 2 months and 18 days
Weight at birth 2900 grams
Weight at 2 months - 4 kg

The children in this orphanage are VERY well taken care of. They are blessed by the financial and humanitarian support of a very large aid group, meaning adequate food, stimulation, toys, and even therapeutic items. They are all being raised with the typical children, so this helps them be even more high functioning. Even more so, they are shared with us by a loving director who genuinely wants to see these angels find families. We are honored to be able to seek families for these children, and hope we can succeed in placing ALL of them very quickly!

I have $5145 in my grant fund towards the cost of my adoption!

Girl, Born October 22, 2007

Jessie is darling!!! Brown hair and brown eyes, and totally healthy. Perfect age to benefit from early intervention, and to join her new family!

I have $187 in my grant fund towards the cost of my adoption!

Girl, Born October 1, 2009

Sweet peanut, Valerie is one of our very youngest! She was born with a minor heart murmur, but she is doing well and will really beenfit from the chance for early intervention!

I have $545 in my grant fund towards the cost of my adoption!

SPREAD the word, facebook, email, twitter, phone, text.... HELP a child find a wonderful HOME.

Balancing work, family life, and alittle bit of me time SEEMS to be a constant struggle

Oh how I have so much respect for my mother. With 4 girls she did everything; cooking, cleaning etc. We always had our hair combed without one piece of hair sticking up or out. The miracle of V05, bristle brush and my mother's strong hand, kept my hair in place all day long. Lucy, my mother, always looked presentable; hair, make-up, ironed clothes. Dinner every night and a clean house.

HOW did she do it! I look around right now and my room looks like it could be in an episode of hoarders with the piles of clothes I have to fold, wash, and put away! I come home from work exhausted really not in the mood to clean a darn thing.

Mom always, always cooked. Everything was scheduled. EVERYTHING was perfect.

SCHEDULE? hmmmm in my house..... LMAO... um ya... TOTAL chaos! TOTAL disaster! TOTAL nightmare! And that is the intro... let's not even go any further .. I can feel myself breaking out in hives thinking about it.

As with every post... it got me thinking about finding my INNER super MOM and releasing the stress within. So I decided to focus on these 4 things.. well maybe 3 .... ok 2..... HEY I am going to try alright! LOL...........

  • Having family time even if it only eating dinner together at the dinner table.
  • Getting alittle me time
  • Making sure to get couple time
  • Keeping my friends close.

I am going to work real hard and try to create a schedule that will allow ALL of us peace of mind.

WISH me luck :)

ING Bay to Breakers is a USA Track and Field certified 12K (7.46 miles). From sea level at the Embarcadero the course rises steeply along Hayes Street Hill. Around the 2.5-mile mark runners climb an 11.15% grade between Fillmore and Steiner, bringing them to the highest point in the race, approximately 215 feet above sea level. The remainder of the course gradually flows alongside the Panhandle and through Golden Gate Park.

The Survivors Club- Are you a survivor? Find out- Giveaway 3 winners...

The Survivors Club

By Ben Sherwood

Which is the safest seat on an airplane? Where is the best place to have a heart attack? Why does religious observance add years to your life? How can birthdays be hazardous to your health?

THE SURVIVORS CLUB

Each second of the day, someone in America faces a crisis, whether it's a car accident, violent crime, serious illness, or financial trouble. Given the inevitability of adversity, we all wonder: Who beats the odds and who surrenders? Why do some people bound back and others give up? How can I become the kind of person who survives and thrives?

The fascinating, hopeful answers to these questions are found in THE SURVIVORS CLUB. In the tradition of Freakonomics and The Tipping Point, this book reveals the hidden side of survival by combining astonishing true stories, gripping scientific research, and the author's adventures inside the U.S. military's elite survival schools and the government's airplane crash evacuation course.

With THE SURVIVORS CLUB, you can also discover your own Survivor IQ through a powerful Internet-based test called the Survivor Profiler. Developed exclusively for this book, the test analyzes your personality and generates a customized report on your top survivor strengths.

There is no escaping life's inevitable struggles. But THE SURVIVORS CLUB can give you an edge when adversity strike!

Finding the self confidence within ME...... sometimes is hard but I think I am getting there

After being home for a year and half with the girls, I seem to have lost my self confidence. Probably in a load of laundry that still needs to be folded. But I am certain it is in there somewhere. My weight has always fluctuated throughout my life but it has never affected me until now. I have always thought I was all that and a bag of chips (darn chips-this is your fault!).

Building my confidence has definitely been a struggle these past couple of weeks. Going back into the workforce after being a mommy and housekeeper, is a HUGE change.

I do miss my sweats, sneakers, and t-shirts but it is so nice to dress up, wear make up, and do my hair. :)

As I began reading articles online, I found a list of CHARACTERISTICS of self confident people (the person I use to be) and I will be applying this next week. BRING it on confidence. BRING it baby! The RICAN has been unleashed! :)

  • Doing what you believe to be right, even if others mock or criticize you for it

  • Being willing to take risks and go the extra mile to achieve better things.

  • Admitting your mistakes, and learning from them

  • Waiting for others to congratulate you on your accomplishments.

  • Accepting compliments graciously. “Thanks, I really worked hard on that prospectus. I’m pleased you recognize my efforts.”

Bringing on the positive and belief in myself. I am going to continue to work hard and at my best.

I GOT MY GAME FACE ON PEOPLE! LOL
Later peeps,
Grissell

Meet Stellan!

Stellan likes to go for walks outside.

Stellan has Down syndrome and a mild degree of congenital cardiac malformation – foramen ovale, without hemodynamic disturbances. He is walking but is reported to not be very active. He enjoys sitting and playing with toys. He will pick up a toy and play with it for long periods of time. He likes to go on walks outside. He is making sounds and combinations of sounds, but it not yet using words. He reacts positively to attention from adults.

I'm certain in a loving family with interaction and stimulation he will enjoy being active! He has such a precious and sweet face!

Do you like going for walks? Maybe Stellan could be part of your family!
