Christmas Meme-Getting to know you :).. wow you want to know more hmmmmm are you sure?lol

Aww how sweet it is to have such wonderful bloggy friends. I get so overwhelmed with everyone's kindness here in bloggylannd. I have received so many awards from wonderful bloggers and if I haven't posted them yet, I will I promise I am just so behind on everything.

I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving with your families.

I was tagged

TAGGED that's right by Jen over at http://www.jaelcustomdesigns.com/ to participate in this Christmas Meme. She ws tagged by Ivette over at Work At Home Mom- Busy http://www.wahmbahm.com/ And Happy Mom and she was tagged by Heather from over at http://www.toptenchristmasblog.com/ to

OK here goes!

1.) Have you started your Christmas shopping? Let me see, hmmmm NO!!!! This year I am procrastinating just to procastinate! But I am going to get there, don't worry.

2.) Tell me about one of your special traditions.
During Christmas time my father has all of us make PASTELES. A Puerto Rican dish made with green bananas, meat, garbanzo beans, green olives. IT is sooo yummy!! We have always done it as kids and now we are passing it down the younger generations.

3.) When do you put up your Tree? The funny thing is I always put it up right before Thanksgiving because life gets so hectic and it is hard to find time. AGAIN I am procrastinating this year.. UGHHHH someone help me please.

4.) Are you a Black Friday shopper? When the boys were younger I use to go out for fun but not that I am the ripe age of 37, I don't feel like getting into a fist fights over freakn elmo or dolls.  LOL

5.) Do you Travel at Christmas or Stay home?
Christmas EVE we always go to my parents house. Have dinner and open one present at midnight. Christmas morning everyone spends with their family in am then we go back for left overs in the afternoon.

6.) What is your funniest Christmas memory?
OMG there are so many funny episodes in my family I just can't remember one right now. OUR life should be a reality show.

7.) What is your favorite Christmas Movie of All time? I would have to say Miracle on 34th street. I love watching it with the kids because it brings back so many memories of growing up.

8.)Do you do your own Christmas Baking, what’s your favorite treat? Jeff really loves to bake homemade cookies. So all of us help make cookies together in the kitchen. Messy but fun!

9.) Fake or Real Tree? Well it depends. This year we will have a fake white tree Chloe picked out because of the baby with plastic ornaments. Next year we will get a real one.

10.) What day (as a Mom) does the actual panic set in to get it all done? I usually don't panic. The boys get giftcards because you know how teens are. Chloe is 4 so at this point she is supper easy. Kyiah is happy if she gets cheerios LOL

11.) Are you still wrapping presents on Christmas Eve? Nope I usually get it all done before. Thank goodness

12.) What is your favorite family fun time at Christmas? I would have to say Christmas morning. Seeing the kids get so excited to see what they got!

13.) What Christmas craft do you like the best? GURL I love crafts but just aren't very crafty

14.) Christmas music: Music is such a great part of my hispanic heritage. Listening to latin music to get us in the mood is so wonderful. My english favorites besides latin is: I'm dreaming of a white christmas, Mariah carey's christmas album.. oh man so many.

15.) When do you plan to finish all your shopping? I have no clue!.

We would love for any blogger to participate in this meme, even if you haven’t been tagged yet. Heather will go back and add your blog link to the list if you wanna play along.
Just simply copy and paste the questions into your blog, and then answer them.
Then tag 5 or more of your favorite blogs, and leave them a comment telling them they’ve been tagged.

When you post your blog, please spread some Christmas cheer, and leave a link back to Heather's Top Ten Christmas Blog, and the blog that you were tagged by which happens to be LIKE muah

That’s it! We’re looking forward to seeing everyone’s answers!

What really awwww you shouldn't have... really you should have.... HEY! I thought we had a limit to buying gifts? ........

Holy jupiter batman! What the heck! Seriously? Surprise my gift is soo much better than yours. UGHHH I hate when that happens :D

What was the MOST surprising gift you've ever received? Well mine hands down is when my husband gave me a new wedding ring with a diamond. WHY so surprising? Well when we got married we tried to pay for everything that we could for our wedding etc. Since we were on a beer budget, he bought me a plain gold band that I got at a 50% discount because I worked at Service Merchandise at the time which came out to $40.00.

I usually a plain jane when it comes to jewelry so I was happy.

Well one year he decided to finally buy me a ring with a diamond in it and told everyone else BUT me of course, for CHRISTMAS. I opened it up and my heart just sank. A ring with a diamond in it. It was beautiful, shiny, and beautiful LOL :)

"You bought me a ring? OMG You bought me a ring. You didn't have to buy me a ring!"

But in my head I was saying YES! Baby GIVE ME THAT RING! It was the prettiest thing I have ever seen.

Crap now I got to give him my gift. NOW my joy turns into embarrassment because my gift, my gift to the most thoughtful man on the universe is .......is a freakn flannel jacket, socks, and underwear!

"He opens it up and says THANK you exactly what I wanted!"

Ok make a girl feel more crappy... dang it! DANG IT! oH WELL I GUESS IT IS THE THOUGHT THAT COUNTS RIGHT? right?.... crickets....silence...... YOU know what! IT is! It is!

On a side note: We are divorced now so I am thinking the socks, and underwear weren't cutting it! HEY! It is all good I got the ring! LOL

Everyone have a great Holiday and make memories! Good ones! Maybe some embarrasing ones too while you are at it. SO THAT everyone for years to come will continue to bring it up at the dinner table at family gatherings until the day you die! :D

This post inspired once again by Twittermoms and Target blogging contest. What was the most surprising gift you'be ever received?

Laughing all the way to the bank, to the car, to the next holiday season~How do you save the CASH?

Sleigh bells are ringing, Santa is laughing, and shoppers are spending. Cha ching! Cha ching! I can smell it in the air and I am so happy it is finally here. How do I keep my pocket book HAPPY it is here too? Easy plan, plan, plan.

Every year after the hussle and bussle of the Holiday Season, I stock up on clearance items and place them in my gift closet. Savings from 50% up to 90% off. Bath sets, perfumes, kids toys, Christmas ornaments, etc. I use them for the entire year for birthday gifts, holidays, special occasions.

Snag those after sale DEALS! Believe me you won't be sorry!

For those gifts that can't wait for after the holidays. Shop wisely and shop around. Check online sometimes there are only sales available by online purchase ONLY and many stores are offering free shipping. SO jump on it.

As the economy slowly begins to improve this holiday season, SHOPPING smart is essential. IF your teens are picky and you know they can be ALITTLE picky well maybe alot picky of what they wear and use. I always buy them one gift and give them a gift card. THEY love it every time. THEY love to shop the day after and pick what ever THEY want.  I never have to hear ughhhh this is the wrong brand, wrong color, wrong everything... whatEVA dudes!

I also have a large family and so to keep expenses down , we have an ANNUAL gift exchange. Maximum price is $15.00. It is amazing what you can get for $15 if look around. So we make it a game to see who could get the best darn deal on gifts.

As for my nieces and nephews, everyone had decided that ONLY the parents would purchase them gifts to save everyone CASHOLA. I usually break the rules by buying something very inexpensive.

ONE big hit: GIANT jaw breakers

Those suckers last forever! I mean forever! They get a kick out of it. BUY THEM in bulk. Use them for birthday gift bags. THEY are perfect!

SO MANY deals! SO LITTLE time!  Search, research, and shop around!

Bringing up you are almost dead to your parents so that they can teach you to cook like them I know but shyt I am going to starve when they are gone.

I am not a spring chicken anymore and surely not my parents. As I am filling my plate with heaping fulls of my mother's arroz con pollo, beans, turkey,etc... I am at the same time trying to think of a way to make my mom show me the right way to make these foods  before she is gone.

Hmmmmmm, you know mom you are going to be like dead in 20 years and at these holidays I am sure going to miss your food and so will everyone else. You know we may starve to death and join you.

She looks at me and says more like 10.... OMG in 10 years she thinks she is going to be dead. She tells me in spanish. In January I retire and I am going to make sure you know how to make this and make it real good. I look at her and say cooolll!

Mom! She says yes? I am going to miss you too. She says ya right~you are using me for my skills in the kitchen LMAO..... we both started laughing!

Maybe at Christmas I bring up that since she said she will be dead in 10 years ~ I might bring up the CHINA too! LOL......

People I am kidding, well maybe not because that stuff would look mighty fine in my china cabinet. Hey I am just saying.

LOVE ya mommy!

A whole lot of turkey recipes ~yum yum :P

OH my goodness turkey turkey turkey! How I love thee......... The holidays are just wonderful and with food is even more. There are so many wonderful turkey recipes and I swear it will be my goal of things to try before I die.

I don't know about you but I LOVE Paula Deen. She is sweet, sassy, and loving. Everything she makes , she makes with LOVE. I found this cool recipe for fried turkey on the food network site.. yum yum

FRIED Turkey
Ingredients
1 (10-pound) turkey
2 tablespoons House seasoning, recipe follows
2 tablespoons of your favorite dry rub
3 to 5 gallons peanut oil
Cooks Note: To measure the amount of oil needed to fry the turkey, place turkey in fryer, add water to top of turkey, remove the turkey and the water line will indicate how much oil will be needed to fry your turkey. Having too much oil can cause a fire. The pot should not be more than 3/4 full or the oil could overflow when the turkey is added.
Directions
Wash bird inside and out, and allow to drain. Rub turkey all over with House Seasoning. Coat turkey with dry rub. Allow the bird to sit until it reaches room temperature.

Heat peanut oil in a turkey fryer or a very, very large stockpot to 350 degrees F. Lower turkey into hot oil, very carefully, making sure it is fully submerged. Fry turkey for 3 minutes per pound plus 5 minutes per bird. Remove turkey from oil and drain on paper towels.

Serve with favorite Thanksgiving sides and salads.

House Seasoning:
1 cup salt
1/4 cup black pepper
1/4 cup garlic powder
Mix ingredients together and store in an airtight container for up to 6 months.

LOVE you Paula Deen! Yum can't wait to try this recipe!

Another recipe I found on the web Cookrecipes.com:

Apricot Glazed Turkey with Herb Butter

Apricot Glaze:
1 cup apricot nectar
1 cup apricot preserves
2 tablespoons fresh gingerroot, peeled and minced
1 tablespoon honey
Combine apricot nectar, preserves, ginger and honey in a small heavy saucepan and bring to boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until reduced to 1 1/4 cups, about 15 minutes.
Herb Butter:
3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
3 tablespoons chopped fresh sage
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Blend 3/4 cup butter, 3 tablespoons sage, salt and pepper in small bowl. Set aside.
Roasted Turkey:
1 (21-pound) whole turkey, fresh or frozen (thawed)
32 ounces turkey broth, divided use
1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme
1/2 teaspoon chopped fresh sage
As needed salt and freshly ground black pepper

Preheat oven to 400º F.
Pat turkey dry with paper towels. Season turkey cavity with salt and pepper.
Place turkey on rack, and set in large shallow roasting pan. Slide fingers under skin of turkey breast to loosen skin.
Spread half of herb butter over breast under skin. Place remaining herb butter in small saucepan. Stir over low heat until melted. Brush herb butter over outside of turkey. Tie legs together loosely to hold shape of turkey.
Roast turkey for ½ hour. Reduce oven temperature to 325ºF and continue to roast turkey another 1-½ hours, basting occasionally with pan drippings. (Add broth to pan if pan drippings evaporate).
Bring apricot glaze to simmer. Brush turkey with ½-cup glaze; tent turkey with heavy-duty foil. Roast turkey 1 hour.
Remove foil; roast another ½ hour, brushing remaining glaze over turkey. Turkey is done when button head of timer "pops" up and the internal temperature measures 170 degrees F in the breast.
Place turkey on platter, loosely tent with foil. Let stand ½ hour before carving.
Makes 30 servings.

Check out this one: Yum  yum

Maple Mustard Glazed Turkey

1/3 cup Dijon mustard
1/2 cup maple-flavor syrup
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 Butterball® Turkey (12 to 14 pounds), thawed if frozen
Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C).
Combine first four ingredients together. Set aside.
Remove neck and giblets from body and neck cavities of turkey; refrigerate for another use or discard. Drain juices from turkey; pat dry with paper towels. Turn wings back to hold neck skin in place Return legs to the tucked position, if untucked. Place turkey, breast side up, on flat rack in shallow roasting pan.
Roast turkey 2 hours*. Brush with 1/4 cup of the glaze. Loosely cover breast and tops of drumsticks with aluminum foil to prevent breast from overcooking and glaze from darkening too much. Brush with additional 1/4 cup of the glaze after 30 minutes.
Continue roasting turkey about 1 hour, or until meat thermometer reaches 180°F (85°C) when inserted in thickest part of thigh. Remove turkey from oven. Brush with remaining glaze.
Let turkey stand 15 minutes before carving.
Makes: 3/4 cup glaze and 12 servings of turkey.
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 3 hours 40 minutes

*Follow cooking times according to package directions; times vary by size of turkey.

I hope everyone has a fantastic day with your families and enjoying every minute of it!

Grissell

Holidays are always wonderful especially when it is with family

The crisp cool feel of winter arriving always puts me in good spirits. The thought of the holidays with the family is so exciting. The taste of my mother's turkey and arroz con pollo is amazing. Just thinking about it my mouth begins to water.

I remember when I was a kid the anticipation of the holidays drove me crazy. Excited about every little traditional thing my parents did and allowed us to participate in. It was a great time. Wonderful memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life.

I hope to pass on the joy of the season, love of family, hope for the future.

I have so many activities I LOVE to do with the kids and as they get bigger they are more important than ever. My TOP 5 favorite activities I love to do with them are:

1) Shopping for the Christmas Tree

2) Visit to Santa

3) Sitting by the fire and having some hot cocoa with marshmellows

4) Baking cookies

5) Spending time with family

The years go by so fast and having long lasting memories is so important. Memories live forever. Go ahead make a happy memory and make the most of it this year.

Black Friday might turn into BLACK eYe Friday if the toy my kid wants is out of stock!

Move over mommas and beware rican momma is on a mission! I will not LOSE at all. Just warning ya I will be out there in search of this year's Hottest toys. Why,because my little snot nosed kids want them that's why! A moms gotta do what a moms gotta do.

What is your black friday plan of attack this year? Mine is simple: DOMINATE! GO! FIGHT! WIN!

We will not lose! Losers are losers. This year I will not wear the big L on my forehead that says:

LA LA LOSER~ your kid will crying Christmas morning because the one toy she wants was ripped from your hand from a vicious momma.

I have been training people! Lifting weights, running, exercising my mind. I got my son's football pads and helmet to break through that line of DEFENSE trying to hoard those christmas gifts and I WILL NOT FAIL!! FAILURE is not an option!!! NOT AN OPTION!!! Hup Hup Hup~!

I got my game face on , credit card in hand, and my sneakers. IT doesn't matter that I am going to buy this $20.00 toy put on credit and end up paying $1000.00 in the end because I will take me 10 years to pay it off the balance with only the minimum payment option. I will have WON! THAT's ok it is the AMERICAN way!

I shall prepare the troops!

My speech to my small army:

"We will split and conquer! We will fight against all odds and win! We will not flee or surrender. EVEN if it mean a battle to the death. Only the strong survive!"

Cheo and Jo Jo you will go stand outside before the sun rises in front of TARGET. Do NOT loose sight of the goal. THAT DARN toy doll thingy CHLOE wants. FOCUS people FOCUS!

Jeff: You will go to MACY's and get me that darn thing I have been asking for , for the last year. AND you will LIKE IT!

ME: I will hit the electronic stores in search of the latest gadgets for TEEN AGE BOYS.

DOES EVERYONE understand! Where is my COFFFEEEEEEEE!!!! Today we dine in helllll!!!!!!!!!!!

You all have been cautioned!

What inspired this post? YEP that's right TWITTERMOMS ~Megan and TARGET blogger contest.

H1n1 mission completed! I am still alive. Some of you maybe happy others not so much! :)

H1N1 oh swine oh swine. So much controversy. So many stories. So many pro's and con's. It is enough to drive me more crazy than I am and that is almost near impossible. I am a worrier. I read everything above and beyond. Read every study. Than read them again. LOOK at the pro's. LOOK at the con's. THEN do it all over again.

OCD maybe, Crazy maybe alittle. But ever since having my kids the older I get the more worried I get. I think about all the scenarios. I think about what ifs. UGHHHH

I miss those days of living care free without a worry in the world. GOING on the newest fastest roller coaster. Yep those days are gone and responsibility worrying stepped in.

I have seen many posts about not getting the H1N1 and some that say do it. THIS is my view. MY view only so save the hate mail because I don't give a crap what you have to say. WORKING  in the medical field for over 8 years many people make decisions on emotion and misinformation. I have seen it time after time.

YOU need to make the decision for yourself. You look up information, READ it! UNDERSTAND it! Then make an educated response to the information you receive. IT IS YOUR family and ONLY you need to make that decision and don't let other try to shove things down your throat.

Ask questions. Talk to your doctor. Ask more questions.

Whether you decided for or against IS your business! If you don't want to do it then don't , IF you want to then do... VERY SIMPLE!

Ultimately I made the decision on what's right for my family. I choose to get their shots. Both of my boys are asthmatics and are in the high risk groups. It would have been irresponsible not to protect them. My girls are also in the HIGH risk groups and I did the same.

EVERY year they get their regular flu shot injections. EVERY year they have no side effects. NO flu. Do well. EVERY child is different. Luckily, there were no red spots, knots in their arms. No fever. No malaise. The next day they were fine. Thank goodness.

ANYTHING in life is a risk.

Medication is a risk-allergies, overdoses, reactions

Surgery-death, injury, or nothing at all.

Immunizations- allergies, reactions, or nothing at all

In 2005, my nephew Rogelito Campos died in the dentist's chair. Some things we don't think about. While getting routine dental work the dentist had placed a piece of gauze in his mouth for bleeding. He stopped breathing and they didn't notice that the piece of gauze slipped to the back of throat.

They tried to revive him for 40 minutes. The did everything they could do to try to bring him back. He died and he was only 3. I was pregnant with Chloe at the time and was the worst experience of my life.

So I don't take anything lightly. I research and research and research. Before his death I would not let dentists papoose my children for information I had read. Because of my experience in the medical field I asked those important questions.

How are they being monitored?

If they have a papoose how you see the rise and fall of the chest?

What do you do in case of emergency?

Are you cpr certified?

This year Chloe had 4 cavities and the dentist that we had gone to with the boys for 12 years said she wanted to medicate her with mild sedation. I was horrified. I said well can't you try without anything first to see how she does. SHE didn't want to try and got irritated that I would question her. I SAID no! No mild sedation. She tried to convince me.

I asked:

Who will be monitoring my daughter? Her answer my assistant. Your assistant? You mean the dental assistant.

What about her blood pressure and breathing? We have a pulse-ox machine but it only monitors breathing. I said well pulse ox machine slip off and there will be someone there making sure? She was livid with me questioning her authority. WHICH you all know I am a rican and gurl didn't know what hit her. I said I am sorry if this is an inconvience to you but this is my daughter not a paycheck and I am going to do what is safe for her. I will call my daugther's pediatrician and then I will make my decision. BEOTCH I felt like choking her I was so pissed off.

Spoke with the pediatrician he said no! If they need to have her sedate her for dental work she needs to have anesthesia. The doctor is trained to monitor and to respond in emergency situations, this would be the safest.

So I called I researched and found another dentist. I cried for a month thinking about Lito and all the horrid memories of his death.

I remember having to tell a lie to my sister in law and mother in law--after speaking to the er doctor about the prognosis. Them asking me if there was a chance he would live. I asked the doctor how long had he not had oxygen  He said had no oxygen for 40 minutes I put my head down and tried to keep it together. THEY ASKED me again and again. Do you think he will be ok, do you think he will be ok? I said yes.  When I knew in my heart that he would not. WHO was I not to give them hope, who was I to do that to anyone~~ There could ALWAYS be a miracle.

I cried some more. I went to this dentist which was an hour out my way but I didn't care. I told him the situation and my fears. HE LISTENED, HE ANSWERED every question I had. EVERYTHING. He said well let's try to do with only which I call the laughing gas and see how she does and then make a decision. I was so grateful.

I got in the car and I balled and balled uncontrollably. I was relieved that someone listened to me that he was going to try first. LET me tell ya I worked with CHLOE for a week. I layed her down told her there would be a pinch, I pinched her gums, the noises, everything and SHE FANTASTIC~!!! I was so proud of her.

EVERYONE made fun of me. I was always the spaz for asking so many questions. Don't be ashamed to ask questions. Don't be afraid to say no or yes. You will not want to live a life of what if's

AFTER my nephew died it changed all of our lives forever. I don't care to make health professionals uncomfortable. I am not afraid to take my time with questions. If I don't like what they say I find someone else.

When I finally make a decision I hope and pray that I did make the correct decision for the MOST important people in my life~ MY CHILDREN.

Good Luck everyone and take care.

IF your planning on gettin it on in a car and your over the age of 25 DON'T Do it! Just Don't!

LOVE can be exciting, blind, stupid, just plain insane. Let me give you a word of advice, if your trying to be spontaneous and exciting NIX the whole doing it in the car thing.... NOT a good idea.. Why am I the authority on this. BECAUSE I am one of the stupid a$$ people who thought they were young again and tried it..... NOW I am paying for it FOREVER...

Let's see......... it was in the beginning when I first met Jeff and everything was FUN, EXCITING, and NEW. We had just had dinner and on our way home after a fantastic night. Then muah thought is was a great idea to try to get it on in the car. I KNOW I am a nut but I continued to mess with him and say come on you know you want to! Jeff the reasonable one was like G you are so crazy we aren't teenagers. I said who says were not! Come on! Needless to say, it gets alittle heated and we jump into the back of his jeep.  I am kissing him and  I start to try to position myself in the back seat WHICH BY THE way is so uncomfortable. I put my hand down to braise myself and I hear a POP! Then pain, THEN f@##$%........

Are you ok? F@#$% does it look like I am ok! Get off me GET off me!!!!! Jeff is like what the heck is going on with you. I Did something to my arm. After a few hours later in the ER , ya try explaining to the doctor HOW did this happen? My face was so red , and I said well, well, well, we were wrestling....and I got hurt. The doctor says wrestling? I said ya we were playing around. LMAO......

3 hours later: Diagnosis
You have sprained your back, neck, and have tore your rotator cuff!

ARE YOU SERIOUS!

You are going to need physical therapy and some narcotics! OH brother , all this crap because I thought I was a spring chicken and trying to be this exciting person. NOW LOOK! So I turn to Jeff and say
YOU KNOW what this is your fault! My fault he says! How the heck is this my fault! He says you started it!

THEN I said well you obviously FINISHED it! Didn't you! LMAO.... we could not stop laughing!

The next time I come up with something crazy like this again just SLAP ME will ya!!! LOL

I still have pain in my shoulder when my muscles get tight.

So people , peeps, JUST DON'T do it! I mean in a car that is... LOL

This post inspired by speaking of the crib asking what is the funnies injury that happened to you.

IT'S CHRISTMAS and I want it! Common theme every year....

Getting the freakn toy every year that noone can seem to get and there are mobs fighting you in the aisles for them. I will beat you down for the last furbie thingy lookin toy that supposedly only costed $10 bucks and now people are paying lots of cashola for these pieces of crap toys that you KNOW they will only play with for like 2 weeks and end up in that pile of other crap YOU ALMOST got killed trying to get for your little ungrateful brats that you LOVE so much! BUT that's is the circle of life in the world of CHRISTMAS. Where noone seems to remember is suppose to be about Christ, love and compassion. SHOW them a freakn ugly a$$ doll  AND the WORDS LIMITED edition or SMALL quantities left and all that praying, good manners, respect for others and the real reason we celebrated is thrown out the window like poor Raggedy Ann.

I just want to remind everyone all those freakn toys that drove us crazy that are now in the wasteland somewhere LAUGHING at us.... :)

Remember when parents were fighting for this ugly thing.... seriously I think back then they were going for$ 75.00 to $ 100 for this freakn thing in the 80's ! What is wrong with you people! This doll gave me nightmares!

From the original power rangers I remember this in the early 90's and it has just came out and it was NUTS to find anything. I worked at service merchandise and people were going nuts to get the toys and we would only get a few and people would be MAD --we should have made money by having parents fight it out! LOL

REMEMBER these things!!! Come on 100's of dollars on these little bean bag stuffed animals.
Houston WE have a problem!

So everyone proceed with caution. Stay out of jail and remember those freakn things will still be around after CHRISTMAS!

PEACE AND LOVE, PEACE AND LOVE

Thanksgiving table decor ideas.....

We usually go to my parent's house for Thanksgiving because my mother is a fantastic cook. But one day yes one day I will learn how to make a killer turkey that will leave all wanting more. :)

Our table isn't decorated fancy at all just those paper plates and plastic forks. LOL

So if I ever learn to do it right I will definitely LOVE to host some parties at my house. I found some pics I liked on the web.

Family traditions-funny, wonderful, and forever... What do you want to pass onto your children? #TargetThanksgiving

Tradition is ALWAYS an important thing for OUR family. Some traditional things are funny to pass on and some not so funny when your young and everything your family does is SOOOOOO embarrassing. LOL

It is important that my children feel proud of who they are, where they come from and have something to pass onto their children. There are so many favorite things I am proud to have past on to my children.
But my TOP three favorite family Thanksgiving traditions are:

1)  FAMILY is ALWAYS first!

The crew minus Rajah and Kyiah I don't know where they were LOL

My sisters and me :) Missing my sister Marlenne in this! I think she is taking the picture.

We must appreciate one another. Always have their backs. Love unconditionally. Forever be by their sides not matter what.

Hey I am NOT saying it is always perfect. Do we fight yes but do we make up afterwards yes. I think there is a law written down somewhere that says YOU HAVE to like each other-IT is the law!... I am pretty sure it is written in the bible too! So we don't want to make God mad because you know what happens. :)

This I teach the kids..... your connected FOREVER like it or not! Get use to it! Make the best of every situation and enjoy it! LOVE one another because you never know what day may be your last!

2) The art of playing dominos!

Puerto Rican family tradition to play during holiday parties

I am not very good at it. But my dad and mom are domino pro's they will kick your butt. Even my sister Milly is so good and competitive it is hilarious when she losing against my parents because the laughter turns to silence because she has to concentrate. She is such a poor loser. LOL... another lesson learned for the kids how not to look like a poor loser. :D

The kids play after the adults and get pointers from their parents and grandpa. It brings back all the memories of growing up and I can't believe that table use to be us girls.  Time goes by so fast.

VERY important rule for our family. NO dominos NO party! :)

3)Buying store bought pumpkin pie, LOL

yum yum!

Since most of us aren't bakers we buy STORE bought. We definitely find creative ways to doctor the thing up and make it look like we have spent hours cooking it. THAT is one thing I am most proud of LOL......

Another life lesson: you can't be great at everything and you know what that's ok.

What inspired this post you guessed it Twittermoms and Target blogger contest. Go ahead let us know what you plan on passing on to your children.
